The Gospel of Matthew Sermon Series Part 1

Join us as we study The Gospel of Matthew, our 2024 Book of the Year.  Between March and December (with a few breaks for other topics) we’ll be looking at different passages from Matthew chapters 3-28 with a focus on: Jesus is The King of Kings & The Son of God, Jesus delivers us from… , Jesus’ parables,  sign proofs that Jesus is the Son of God, and the last week of Jesus’ earthy ministry.

Feb-Mar 2024

Each week we’ll be studying a different person from OT history: Noah, Abraham, Moses, Ruth & Elijah.  We’ll learn about their place in the Biblical timeline & their part in God’s plan of redemption, their strengths & weaknesses and lessons we can learn from their life.  It’s always a good thing for us to learn from the Bible together so join us as we get to know these people in our Bible history.

PCF’s 2023 Book of the Bible: The Book of 1st John - Authentic Faith  "I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.” 1 John 5:13.   In a time when many false teachers where in and around the church, the Apostle John gave believers some really important teaching to help them discern if they had an authentic, saving faith -  if they ‘knew’ God.  Join us on Sundays as we study this great letter to the church and learn great truths about having an authentic relationship with God.

Our sermon series – ‘Son of David-the promise of a son on the throne, the promise of a saviour for all’ - looks at the lives and faith of seven kings of Judah who were in the line of David and Christ.  We will finish our series by learning about Jesus the King of Kings.  In the Davidic Covenant (2 Samuel 7, 1 Chronicles 17:11–14, 2 Chronicles 6:16) God promises David and Israel that the Messiah (Jesus Christ) would come from the line of David and the tribe of Judah and would establish a kingdom that would endure forever.  This is a wonderful promise and we are blessed to be able to look back and see it’s fulfilment so far and have the second coming of Christ to look forward to when he will rule as King of Kings.

The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”  What is the new life in Christ?   What are some important truths every believer needs to understand in order to live this new life in Christ?  We will look at four topics in this series - assurance of salvation, the old and new nature, the work of the Holy Spirit, and maintaining fellowship with God.
